Welcome
Welcome to Manotick Public School Web Site. The following provides a brief summary of our school. Our Junior Kindergarten to Grade Five School is dual track with Early French Immersion and Regular English Programs. Presently the school population is 270 with 16.0 teachers. Our morning entry bell rings at 8:15 am and dismissal is at 2:45pm. Our breaks are at the following times: 10:15-11:00 and 1:00-1:45 for grades 1 to 5. Our kindergarten hours are 8:15-10:45 and 12:15 to 2:45. Most students arrive by bus.
Students and their families live within the town of Manotick or in small subdivisions found in the immediate outlying areas. Manotick is only minutes away from the greater City of Ottawa and from Barrhaven.
Manotick School's heritage dates back to the 1890's, yet you will find that we are advanced in technology. Our school climate is a blend of strong, rural community living in a small heritage-rich town along with an up to date Ontario curriculum. Our school has strong partnerships with R.E. Wilson Public School and with the Vanier Community Centre. We do a lot of fundraising to support students and families who are in need.
Manotick School is a teacher-friendly school with hard-working students. Our School Council and community are supportive and very active in our school. Our School Council coordinates an active volunteer program that helps our students academically as well as through the organization of many club and activities.
The City of Ottawa provides an after school programme from 2:45 to 5:30 each weekday which is hugely popular with the children and their parents.
The staff and students at our school look forward to meeting you. Manotick Public School is indeed "a great place to be." We welcome all those who are new to our neighbourhood and community.
Yours sincerely
Erin Linnen — Principal
Mission Statement
Manotick Public School encourages a community feeling promoting a positive, safe, and challenging learning environment where a sense of belonging, and ownership and of caring for one another prevails, fostering academic excellence, growth of self-esteem, and wise decision-making.
Code of Behaviour
Students, parents, and teachers at Manotick Public School seek a safe, happy, and positive learning environment where all children can question, learn, experience, and grow to their full potential. Creating this environment requires the cooperation, full attention, and best efforts of students, teachers, and parents working together. Students at Manotick wish to be treated fairly. In return they are expected to behave towards others in the same way. Students must obey all school rules.
Everybody is expected to be mannerly, respectful, and orderly. To this end our Code of Behaviour sets out consequences to support a safe learning environment

History
Manotick Public School is an elementary school within the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board and is located in Manotick Ontario, a village south of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
Originally built in 1890 on a site across the road from the school, it was the only Public School in the area. It housed students up to the equivalent of grade 6. In the early 1900's, it was destroyed by fire. The school was rebuilt on its present site and opened in 1942 as a continuation school (up to Grade 8). In 1964, an addition was added to the school which included: elementary classrooms, a gymnasium, a library and Administrative Offices. The school was then transformed into a Kindergarten to Grade 6 School. With more schools being built in the area, it was then changed to a Kindergarten to Grade 5 school with both English and Early French Immersion Curricula.
The school is built on an island in the heart of the town. In 1969, a local family (the Bracken family) donated an adjacent field to the school which is now both a school playing field and community recreational area.
Manotick School presently serves the town of Manotick, the outlying areas of Gloucester and Nepean, and sections of the townships of Rideau and Osgoode.
